Writers Markets October 2018

http://www.thebestrewriter.com/According to Erica Verrillo, there are nearly three dozen calls for submissions from writers for October 2018.

As always, anything you can think of is wanted — flash fiction, speculative fiction and poetry, horror, creative nonfiction along with several themed issues and anthologies.

All of these literary magazines pay, and none charge submission fees. Make sure to follow submission requirements carefully. (Editors get cranky when writers don’t follow their submission rules.) If you want to read more, go here…..

Of course, being October, Hallowe’en, horror, fancy dress, trick or treating and pumpkin carving or pie making are all popular subjects and coming up shortly, is Thanksgiving, which is another popular subject that people will want to read about, from many points of view, including recipes, history, pictures and how to plan for family get-togethers. If that is too close for you to gather your content, then it’s already time for looking forward to Christmas. There are so many ways in which you can write about Christmas, from gifts, to missing out on it, to planning, to decorating. What part of Christmas do you like best or least? Do you celebrate Christmas? If you do not and you are in a part of the world that does, then write about what you do about this. Do you celebrate anyway (I know some who do), do you ignore it?

Some people plan their content (and marketing) 6 months ahead of any event or celebration, so these people are already producing their Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and even Easter content already.

Have you got your future writing content planned out? Have you set your goals? Do you have a writing calendar? Where do you stand on this? Are you producing content or even getting your ideas well ahead of time?
